Tri Valley Imaging Services provides advanced technology to provide physicians a clear image for better diagnosis. Fully digital, Tri Valley Imaging offers:

CT Scans

 

Ti Valley Health System uses a 64-slice, low dose CT scanner to create detailed, cross-sectional images of an area of the body. Areas of the body and types of scans include:  head, neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, spine and extremities. We also do CT angiography which looks at blood vessels and other specialized CT protocols such as: 

• Low Dose CT for Lung Cancer Screening - Specialized low dose CT scan to screen for lung cancer on patients with a history of smoking. Eligibility requirements include:
  • Age 50-77 years
  • Asymptomatic (no signs or symptoms of lung cancer)
  • Cigarette smoking history of at least 20 pack years (ex. 1 pack (=20 cigarettes) per year for 20 years or 2 packs per year for 10 years)
  • Current smoker or one who has quit within the last 15 years

• Conformis Knee CT - Specialized CT protocol used to help create customized knee replacements. The knee implant is designed specifically for each patient based on CT images taken of the hip, knee and ankle.
• CT for Electromagnetic Bronchoscopy - Specialized CT protocol used in assistance during a specialized bronchoscopy. The pulmonologist uses a 3D bronchial map from a recent CT of the chest to navigate through the bronchial pathways to a desired location within the lung to biopsy lesions, stage lymph nodes or insert markers to guide radiotherapy.

 

Digital Mammography

 

Tri Valley Health System’s Digital Mammography system features exceptional image quality and reduced radiation dose. The mammography system also utilizes Computer Aided Detection (CAD), which is used to flag suspicious areas to aid the Radiologist in diagnosing the images.

To enhance patient comfort, the mammography technologist utilizes MammoPads for all patients to provide a softer, warmer mammogram.

3D Mammography

Tri Valley Health System now proudly offers Genius 3D Mammography exams which provide better, earlier breast cancer detection compared to 2D alone. The Genius 3D Mammography exam finds 20 to 65 percent more invasive breast cancers than 2D mammography alone.

The Genius 3D Mammography exam allows doctors to examine your breast tissue layer by layer. So instead of viewing all of the complexities of your breast tissue in a flat image, as with conventional 2D mammography, fine details are more visible and no longer hidden by the tissue above or below. More than 200 clinical studies have shown that by using this technology, doctors are able to screen for breast cancer with great accuracy – which means better breast cancer detection and a reduced chance of being called back for additional screenings.  

3D/4D Ultrasound

 

Tri Valley Health System’s ultrasound offers high quality images to aid our radiologists and physicians with patient diagnosis and care. The department also provides expectant parents that utilize Tri Valley Health System with complimentary 3D/4D images of their baby for their personal enjoyment.  ​
