Obstetrics
Expecting a child, especially if it’s the parents’ first, is an exceptionally exciting time that can also be a bit intimidating. Having some reassurance can make a great deal of difference for Mom and Dad as they embark on an unforgettable and life changing journey. For the providers at Tri Valley Health System, creating that reassurance means having the best equipment and technology, highly qualified staff, offering accompanying services, and providing expecting parents with attentive service and helpful information.
Expectant parents at Tri Valley Health System receive a free diaper bag early on in their pregnancy. Included in the diaper bag is helpful information as well as a copy of the popular book “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”. They also receive a free consultation with Registered Dietician, Tonya Koeppen to discuss the do’s and don’ts of eating while pregnant and will be paid a home visit by OB Coordinator, Jamie Shifflet following delivery.
Pleasant Accommodations
Tri Valley Health System’s Cambridge Memorial Hospital features two large, Labor/Delivery/Recovery suites with upgraded finishes, flat screen televisions with internet capabilities, and convertible sofas. The suites also feature jetted tubs for use during labor. Studies have shown hydrotherapy by the use of jetted tubs is a safe method of pain management that also features psychological benefits for the mother as it increases relaxation, lowers blood pressure, and increases overall comfort.

OB Coordinator Jamie Shifflet, RN, CLC, CCE provides Tri Valley provide obstetric patients with compassionate, informative, personalized care. Jamie has earned her B.A.B.E. (Birth And Beginnings Education) through the Academy of Certified Birth Educators. She takes pride in delivering our patients top quality care and education.
Jamie also serves the Tri Valley area with as a Certified Lactation Counselor. She assists our moms and babes achieve a beautiful beginning with breastfeeding from visits in the hospital to follow up at home or in the clinic.

A word about car seats
Car seats are required for babies and young children and are a vital tool in reducing traffic deaths and injuries. However, getting them properly installed and adjusted can be a trial.
